EVALUASI DAYA GABUNG DAN HETEROSIS BIOMAS DAN KOMPONEN HASIL LIMA GENOTIPE JAGUNG (Zea mays L.)
Abstract
This field experiment was held in Research Center of Corn and other Cereals (BALITSEREAL), Bajeng Instalation, at Gowa using randomized complete block design with three replications. Plot size was (1.5 × 5)m2 with plant spacing of 75 × 20 cm. Fifteen corn genotypes of white biomass were used, five genotypes as parents and 10 others were single crossings. Experiment result showed that crossing of SK-P1 × MZ-0159 had high heterosis value for plant height. Highest length and diameter of ear, weight of 1000 grain and yield were reached by SK-P1 × MZ-0394 for biomass per plant. White Srikandi genotype 1 and MZ-0159 was parent that had highest general combining ability (GCA) effect. There were five crossing genotypes had highest specific combining ability (SCA) for grain yield per plant and crossing of MZ-0159 × MZ-0392 had highest SCA effect. For biomass value per plant, there were four crossing genotypes that had high SCA effect, and SK-P1 × MZ-0394 had highest SCA effect.
