TEKNIK PERSIAPAN LAHAN PADA DUA MUSIM TANAM TERHADAP INFESTASI GULMA DAN PERTUMBUHAN SERTA HASIL PADI PASANG SURUT
Abstract
A study concerning with some land preparation techniques at rice planting was done at B-type overflow of tide land at Karang Agung Ulu of Musi Banyuasin during dry season of 2003 and rainy season of 2003/2004. It was set up in a randomized complete block design, consisting of eight treatments with four replications. Treatments were no-treatment (control); cutting down; fully-mechanized tillage; no-tillage + paraquat/gramoxone; no-tillage + paraquat + diuron/ paracol; no-tillage + sulphosate; no-tillage + glyphosate 240AS/polaris; and no-tillage + gly-phosate 480AS/round up. Results showed that in dry season of 2003 and wet season of 2003/2004, treatments gave significant effects to all variables, both weed growth and growth and yield of rice. Based on BNJ test, effective weed control was achieved with no-tillage with herbicide and fully-mechanized treatment as shown by low dry weight of weed. This condition supported rice growth that was relatively higher than that of control and cutting down. In dry season of 2003, highest rice yield (3.62 t ha-1) was obtained at treatment of no-tillage + paraquat + diuron that was higher than that of fully mechanized tillage (3.55 t ha-1). Average of rice yield in wet season of 2003/2004 was higher than that of dry season of 2003.
