PHYSIOLOGICAL CHARACTER ANALYSIS OF RESISTANT AND FRAIL COCOA AGAINST COCOA POD BORER

Abstract

This research aims to analyse difference of physiological characters of resistant and susceptible cacao, undertaken from June to December 2005. Physiological characterizaton with Portable Photosynthetic System CID Licor 32 OP is operated to measure: (1) Photosynthetical Active Radiation (PAR); (2) Internal CO2; (3) External CO2; (4) Evapotranspiration; (5) Stomata conductant; (6) Atmospheric temperature; (7) Leaves’ temperature; (8) Air humidity. Based on average value of field observation, T test then performed to compare physiological characters of sample plants. Results show that physiological character particularly for Photosynthetical Active Radiation and photosynthetic rate between resistant and susceptible cacao are different.
