BANDING PATTERN VARIATIONS AND GENETIC RELATIONSHIP OF COCOA (THEOBROMA CACAO L.) RESISTANT TO COCOA POD BORER (CONOPOMORPHA CRAMERELLA SNELL.) BASED ON ISO-ENZYME ANALYSIS
Abstract
South Sulawesi has 15 accessions of cacao expectedly resistant to cacao pod borer (CPB) which originated from several regions of South Sulawesi with various phenotypes. An aim of this research was to obtain information on band diversity and correlation of several cacao accessions expectedly resistant to CPB based on iso-enzyme analysis. Research was undertaken from February to October 2005. Iso-enzyme analysis was performed in Agriculture Biotechnology Laboratory, Research Centre of Hasanuddin University. Results revealed relative correlation of 15 number accession of cacao resistant to CPB based on peroxidase iso-enzyme pattern (PER), aspartat amino-transferase (AAT), acid phosphatase (ACP), and malate dehidrogenase (MDH). Pattern consisted of 3 groups on genetic similarity of 0.722. There was diversity of band pattern among those resistant plants
