PENGARUH DOSIS PUPUK FOSFOR TERHADAP KUALITAS DAN KUANTITAS BENIH ENAM KULTIVAR MENTIMUN (CUCUMIS SATIVUS L.)

Abstract


Purpose of this research was to study the effect of phosphor fertilizer dosage on cucumber
seed and to determine its best dosage for cucumber seed production. An experiment was
carried out at Lembang Vegetable Research Institute, from July to December 2004. It was
arranged in split plot design with two replications. Main plots were six cultivars of
cucumber, i.e. Pluto, Mars, Saturnus, Venus, LV-2276 and LV-308. Subplots were 4 dosages
of phosphor fertilizer, namely 0, 100, 150, and 200 kg P2O5 ha-1. Results were (1) there was an
interaction between cucumber cultivar and phosphate fertilizer on vigor index but there was
no interaction on number of seed per fruit, weight of 100 seeds, seed weight per plant, seed
weight per plot, seed germination and test on accelerated aging and (2) phosphate dosage of
150 and 200 kg P2O5 ha-1 showed significant effect on seed quantity (filled fruit and number
of seed per fruit) and quality (test on accelerated aging).
