Abstract
Vegetables are one of horticultural commodity commonly cultivated with high input. In order to increase farming efficiency and to get healthy product, alternative cultivation should be developed. Aim of this research was to understand the effect of organic agricultural application on plant growth, pest attack intensity and crop yield. Experiment was carried out from June to August 2002 in Alamendah Bandung, West Java laid on 1050m asl. It was arranged in randomized complete block design with 7 replications. Treatments were organic farming, LEISA, and local technique. Results showed that pest attack intensity of Spodoptera exigua and Alternaria porii were lower than 2%. Organic farming gave highest plant height and number of bud on 8 wap, which differed insignificant from other treatments. Yield of this treatment was 20 t ha-1, which also differed insignificant from others and had B/C ratio higher than 1.
