Abstract

A field experiment to study the effect of
herbicides mixturation on weed and vegetative
growth of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.)
was conducted in Gratitunon, Grati - Pasuruan
from June to September 2006. The experiment
was arranged in randomized complete block
design which consist of 7 levels of weed control
treatments and three replications. The treatments
were G0 = without weed control, G1 = ametryne
herbicide (3 kg ha-1), G2 = 2.4-D herbicide (1.5 l
ha-1), G3 = ametryne + 2.4-D herbicide (3 kg ha-1
+ 1.5 l ha-1), G4 = ametryne + 2.4-D herbicide
(2.25 kg ha-1 + 1.125 l ha-1), G5 = ametryne +
2.4-D herbicide (1.5 kg ha-1 + 0.75 l ha-1), G6 =
ametryne + 2.4-D herbicide (0.75 kg ha-1 +
0.375 l ha-1). The result showed that application
of the mixture herbicides (2.4-D + ametryne)
more effective to control weed than unmixture
herbicides. Application of herbicide to control
weed increased vegetative growth of sugarcane
compared to unweeding treatment. The
application of mixture herbicide did not cause
toxicity on the sugarcane plant.
