The research was aimed to know the best level
of N and K fertilizers for Elephant Food Yam
growth and yield. Experiment was done at
Faculty of Agriculture UPN ";Veteran"; Yogyakarta,
Condongcatur at 115 m above sea level,
from October 2004 to April 2005. The
experiment was done in two factors with three
replications using the Completely Randomized
Block Design. There were four doses of N (0,
2.25, 4.5, and 6.75) g N per plant, and four doses
of K (0, 3, 6, and 9) g K2O per plant. The results
showed that there were the interaction effect of
N and K application on tuber yield (diameter,
thickness, and tuber weight), and there was no
interaction N and K fertilizer doses on plant
growth parameters. At dosage N 4.5 g and K 6
g per plant showed the highest tuber yield. Both
treatments N and K were significantly increased
root length, fresh weight, and plant dry weight.
