Abstract

Research aimed to know the best antagonist
either alone or combination on suppress the
gladiolus wilt disease by in vitro and in planta
methods. Factors tested in vitro test were
Pseudomonas fluorescens P60, Trichoderma
harzianum both from ginger and ginseng, and
Gliocladium sp. For in planta test, factors tested
were control, Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. gladioli,
P. fluorescens P60, T. harzianum from ginger, and
Gliocladium sp. Variables observed were inhibition
level, pathogenic mycelial dry weight, incubation
period, disease intensity, late population of
pathogen and anta-gonist, numbers and length of
leaves, and supporting variables. Research results
showed that T. harzianum from ginger was the
best antagonist on in vitro treatment. This
antagonist could also decrease the disease in
planta up to 56.83%, and the antagonist
combination could suppress the disease up to
53.98%. All of the antagonist population tended to
decrease in the end of observation. However, the
given treatment could not be able to increase
growth of gladiolus yet.
