Abstract


The constraint of AR143 improvement by crossing
was the rate of prospective fruitsand fruits drop were
so high. This research was conducted at Sumani
Experimental F ield and Tissue Culture Laboratory
of Indonesian Fruits Research Institute, and
Cukurgondang Experimental Field from May to
December 2004. The objective of this research was
to obtain the suitable media for embryo rescue of
AR143 x CKG, and AR143. The results of the
research indicated that: (1) The rate of fruit drop
were high, the percentage of prospective fruits
formation of AR143 x Apel Merah was 3.45%,
AR143 x Irwin was 0%, AR143 x Gedong Gincu
was 1.73%, Apel Merah x AR143 was 0.64%, and
Saigon x AR143 was 0.35%; (2) The shoots growth
from seed explants of AR143 x CKG on B5 + 1
mg/l Kinetin + 1 mg/l GA3 + 1 mg/l NAA medium
were slow; (3) The percentage of shoots/seedlings
formation from AR-143 zygotic embryo on B5 + 1
mg/l Kinetin medium was 90%, 77.78% on B5 + 3
mg/l Kinetin, 50% on B5 + 6 mg/l Kinetin, and
87.50% on B5 + 9 mg/l Kinetin medium, with the
highest shoots heigh 8.33 cm were obtained on B5 +
3 mg/l medium, at 12 weeks after culturing.
