PENGARUH PERSILANGAN BEBERAPA KLON NENAS TERHADAP KARAKTER BIJI

Abstract

Aim of the research was to know the effect of
pineapples crossing on seed character. Research
was conducted on KP. Aripan, Research Institute
of Tropical Fruit, started from November
2005 to Desember 2006. Crossing used clone
Queen, Cayenne and Green Spanish. Parameters
observed were total number of seed, maximum
seed number per eye, percentage of seed colour,
time of germination, percentage of germination
and phenomena of albino seedling. Results
showed that crossing of clone Cayenne x Queen
have the higest total number of seed (208.67
seeds) and maximum seed number per eye (12
seeds), the longest of time of germination (47.33
days) and the lowest of percentage of germination
(47.02%). Crossing of clone Cayenne x
Green Spanish, and Green Spanish x Queen
have the fastest time of germination (26.6 and
27.33 days). Crossing of Green Spanish x
Cayenne have highest percentage of germination
(68.04%). There were albino seedling on
crossing of clone Queen x Green Spanish, clone
Green Spanish x Queen, and clone Green
Spanish x Cayenne.
