Abstract
Total length frequency sample of Cyprinus carpio was collected in July through
December 2000. The COMPLEAT ELEFAN and Virtual Population Analysis (VPA)
were used for estimating its cohort, population parameters and stock. The von
Bertalanffy growth formula was estimated as L' = 59.0 cm and K = 0.7 year-1. Totalmortality rate was estimated using mean length analysis of Z = 3.64 year–1. Naturalmortality was estimated by Pauly’s empirical formula accounted to
M = 1.171 year-1.Fishing mortality, which is indicated by F, was 3.517 year–1 while Exploitation ratewas reached at 0.75. A Beverton-Holt yield-per-recruit model explored that current
fishery harvest, approximately 115.38% reached at from the potential yield with Lc, of8.18 cm. Biomass estimating has been reached at 546.8 tons, then the current
productivity will be 33 kgHa-1year-1.
