KONSUMSI PAKAN SUKARELA (Voluntary Feed Intake) BEBERAPA PAKAN HIJAUAN TERNAK DOMBA
Abstract
The main aim of this research was to investigate voluntary feed intake of same
local feedstuff by sheep in South Sulawesi. A selection of six types of local feed
namely alang-alang, kolonjono, benggala, rice straw, field grass and elephant grass
were allocated to six of sheep ages of 2 years. Voluntary feed intake of each sheep
was measured everyday at 7.00 am for 20 days. The result of this research showed
that kolonjono and elephant grasses were more palatable, and consumpt significantly
higher (P < 0.01) than that of other grasses.
